I can't wear my hair down because it always puffs out. Please help, I really would like to wear my hair down!

Straighteners are wonderful, but you need more than just products for really curly "big" hair. You need a good quality flat iron. You can get a really good one at Sally's beauty supply, or others that sell to the public. You might have to pay $40 for one, but it's good. The best of the line, is Chi, but they are around $130 now. But the cheaper ones are great as well. I have been a hairdresser for 22 years. I would try that. It's time consuming but worth it. I have very very long curly fuzzy hair, and I have to use oil, straightener and a flat iron on mine to get it smooth. Try to get one with ceramic flat blades on it, you'll get better results. Your hair has to be completely dry before you use it, if your hair is wet or damp, you know it's going to revert and you'll be back where you started. Try the flat iron. I would NOT get one over 1.5 inches wide, they are too hard to handle. Just remember when you use the iron, it's going to be very very hot, and you have to get as close to the scalp as possible to get all the curl out. I think you will be happy with the results.

there is a brand that my niece uses called JUST for ME and their products are AWESOME.... my niece is also half black and half white she uses it and it seems to work well......you can either get it at walmart or sally beauty supply

!! looks like you need hairepy. heat tamer paul mmitchel helps when your dont with it too. use that hairepy product...oh i forget what its called....get one thats made to tame hairshampoo and conditioner and when you get out of the shower put heat tamer in it. Or heat tamer any other time. good luck.

make sure your shampoo is intense moisture or something similar to that, i've found condition doesn't help as much as a moisture shampoo does. that will help with frizz, then try tresume curling mouse or a good silk extract product that you have to get at a salon some aren't as good as others. if you blow dry with a diffuser really slowly that helps make sure to not dry it all the way, it will frizz if you do. sadly your hair is still gonna be a little big.

I use the flatiron called the Corioliss. It's the greatest thing I have ever used. I'm half black and half puerto rican so my hair is naturly curly also. After I was it I put some optimum oil in it which makes it shiny and also some doo gro oil which keeps it healthy. Then I blow dry it and straighten it. I love the corioliss, yes it was a little expensive($150) but it's worth it. LOL.

Use a straightening shampoo and a straight iron. Every morning put in straightning conditioner or spray.

Try herbal essence totally twisted mouse apply it while wet, let air dry alittle and then apply herbal essence extra hold. I have really curly hair to and this lets me wear it down.
