Im not sure thats a good question. Can u let me know what you think of my pic? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

Old people and white hair?

Because as you grow older, your body isnt as stong as it is before, so instead of producing black hair, it comes out white.

SO like as you grow, the cells in your body grow which tends it to change.

That is why they have white hair.

Old people and white hair?

because when they get old they lose their souls and souless people either have red hair or white. when people are born without souls they have red hair (gingers, they also have freckles and pale skin. watch out for them), but when they grow into it, their hair just turns white.

dont listen to any of these other satan worshipers. i have been fighting off gingers all my life and it is the hardest job ever. I hope you never have to deal with them or old people. Once you lose your soul, that is it =/

Old people and white hair?

A change in hair color typically occurs naturally as people age, usually turning their hair from its natural color to gray and then to white. More than 40 percent of Americans have some gray hair by their fortieth birthday, but white hairs can appear as early as childhood. The age at which graying begins seems to be almost entirely based on genetics. Sometimes people are born with gray hair because it is passed down genetically. Many people use hair dye to disguise the amount of gray in their hair.

The change in hair color is caused by the gradual decrease of pigmentation that occurs when melanin ceases to produced in the hair root and new hairs grow in without pigment. Two genes appear to be responsible for the process of graying, Bcl2 and Mitf. The stem cells at the base of hair follicles are responsible for producing melanocytes, the cells that produce and store pigment in hair and skin. The death of the melanocyte stem cells causes the onset of graying.[1]

As we get older, the pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle, that strand of hair will no longer contain as much melanin (the pigment which colours our hair, skin and eyse) and will become a more transparent color - like gray, silver, or white - as it grows. As people continue to get older, fewer pigment cells will be around to produce melanin. Eventually, the hair will look completely gray.

They are the lucky ones. I've worked in retirement homes and the ones who's hair turns white are lucky. I am starting to go gray and it s**ks.

Old people and white hair?

The protein that causes hair color getts low and runns out as they age.

Old people and white hair?

When you get old you'll know why.

Old people and white hair?

i'll leave the scientific reasons,to smarter people.I myself was born almost completely bald. One of those was a grey hair. Most of my family have pre-mature grey hair.Like some men are bald in their 20's.

It has nothing to do with wives' tale.Which a nurse pulled mine out.She thought it was bad luck on a newborn baby.My mother had wanted to show it to my grandmother.Anyway,my mom gets compliments(sorry) on her hair all the time.I don't want to rush my age.But i'd like mine to be completely grey.i dye it when I'VE had enough of 3 shades.I see some elderly people and there hair is beautiful.

Just yesterday ,i saw a man who worked at the market. His face was just beautiful, and his hair and full beard was the most beautiful grey. I asked about him. They said he actually has been playing the part of Santa Claus for years. He looked like a serene painting. It's a sign of wisdom (that I'll never have alot (lol)) And for some reason brings about a sense of peacefulness to me.

Old people and white hair?

Because we get old! It will happen to you at some period in life.... It can be caused by many other body responses, as well, like fright, worry, chemical changes, cancer etc. ! It is part genetic and it usually happens along family lines. Lack of melanin is the real culprit and is mostly due to the aging process, I understand...............

Old people and white hair?

Usually it is stress related. Other times it has to do with dying your hair to many times
