How do you get black hair dye out of a white towel?

I've tried soaking it in water with laundry detergent that claims it removes the toughest stains. So far, it has lightened the stains but not removed them.

I've also sent the towel threw a cycle in the washing machine. The once black stains are now a faded brownish color..but they are still there.

As a last resort I am fixing to use a little bit of bleach on the towel and let it to soak in a bucket. I'm not sure how long I should let it set. (I do not want the bleach to eat threw the towel.) Should the water be hot or cold?

P.S. I am not the one that got the hair dye on the towel and I am not going to just toss it away.

Well, you can't. Hair dye is permanent. Doesn't matter what color it is, it won't come out. You've probably done all you can for the towel. This is why when I dye my hair, I use a really dark colored towel like navy blue or black, that way the dye can't be seen.
