Black n white hair?

Im a black gurl n ive been tryna grow my hair for a really long time, an ive noticed that white people tend to naturally have long hair, now im not disputing the fact that theirs black people with long hair, i jus wuld like to know, what makes it this way? I mean i was looking at a picture of my cousin hu is 4 and her hair is already longer than mine (shes mixed race)

Why is this?

Black n white hair?

Well when you say long, how long are you talking. I'm a black girl and my hair is long without extensions or anything but it breaks easily and its a lot of work taking care of it. Natural black hair grows better because you don't put any chemical in it. Once your started puting any chemicals in it, Perms, certain Shampoos and creams it changes your hair.

Honestly What I've noticed is that white people dont do as much to there hair as we do and thats why it grows.

Good Luck

Black n white hair?

maybe its because black people generally (not all) have coarser hair than white people so they tend to cut it so it wont have a stiff look.

Black n white hair?

traits from your African ancestors-if u hav any, not all black peps hav short hair beyonce, ashante, janet jackson

Black n white hair?

Black hair is naturally very dry, and tends to break, esp with all the styling products they use. I think it is because of you decent, which is typically hot weather, so your hair is rough and dry to prevent damage.

Black n white hair?

it is only natural for your type of hair, not all white or mix race people have straight hair, you have been given your type of hair by your genes

Black n white hair?

Black people do have coarse hair. I was examinig it under a microscope in science today and it is a lot different from white people hair. It's genes.

Black n white hair?

Black hair is just very different, as is asian hair. Oprah said it took her whole life to grow her hair long enough for a pony tail. Most celebs I'm sure have weaves or extentions. What a black girls calls a perm is opposite of what a white girl calls a perm. It's just different.

I think that it is mostly from genes. Some ppl just aren't made to have a lot of hair. I can't tell you exactly why, but I think that if you take care of your hair (by not getting braids ALL the time because it can break your hair sometimes) by washing it every two weeks or week as you see fit and getting a relaxer every six weeks, you should start seeing results. It is also my opinion that when you do this (if you choose to wear a wrap) not to put grease on it because it weighs it down and makes it look heavy. Our hair is already naturally oily and you don't have to add grease. Also, be careful about what shampoo and conditioner you use. Make sure you're not using anything that whites use because their shampoo is made with detergent which strips the hair of the natural oils (because they don't like their hair oily, part of the reason why we rarely get lice) that us African Americans need. Try something like doo gro, Pantene Pro-V for coloreds, creme of nature, motions or something like that. These shampoos keep your hair healthy and add the oils that we need.

It genetics. In Africa people didn't need hair because it was hot, while in Europe people needed it because it got cold. Also coarse hair is more suseptable to breakage and is dry(very much so) than straght or wavy hair. People with coarse hair also tend to abuse it more or dont know what to put on it to care for it. "White" hair aslo grows faster per month than "Black" hair.

i think it depends on how u look after your hair ! my friend is black and her hair is jus like mite now but when she was younger it was like really curly - like straw but now that she have str8ened it and lookd afta it so wel it is beautiful !! good luck x

Black n white hair?

It's not about genes. You just have to take care of your hair. Yes black people have coarser hair but you really do need to llok after it. I am balck and I have long hair.
